There are some common mistakes when chosing items to get for Irelia.

 Stark's Fervor - this one is very nice item, but there are still better and cheaper alternatives than this. In my opinion as, Irelia doesn't need lifesteal - for lifesteal her second skill is more than enough.

 Infinity Edge - yes, it's nice item, i know, but look, the price of this item is just SOOOOOOO expansive, and actually there is just ocean of better and cheaper items for Irelia than this. I only buy it when I play some champions like Miss Fortune and Ashe.

 Phantom Dancer - Irelia is not AD carry, so she doesn’t need it at all.

At the end, no matter what kind of Irelia you want to play with(AP/Tank).

Trinity force is the only one you must get. Simply the best item for Irelia. Very expensive.
